Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte expects the Denmark young defender (Andreas Christensen) to return in action on Monday against West Bromwich Albion after Chelsea defensive line struggle during his absence.
Andreas Christensen sustained a hamstring injury, 28 minutes after the match started in a 0-3 defeat against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge last month and was replaced by Antonio Rudiger.
After Christensen was brought out in the first part of the game, Chelsea then later conceded three goals which were one of the biggest lost for Chelsea this season.
In the press conference, Reporters asked Conte why Chelsea struggled after the absence of Christensen “I don’t know, I can’t say others are not capable but everything was wrong when he was absent, the last two games were terrible”.
“That’s why I said every player is important to us now, Christensen is an important player to us. His stats show how good he is, we didn’t concede many goals in the past when Christensen played.”
The Italian replaced Christensen with David Luiz against Watford, bringing up the three he used last season but conceded 4, 3 in the remaining 8 minutes to end up the game. The Brazilian, David Luiz recorded the lowest rating against Watford on Monday.
According to Conte, Christensen trained on Friday at Cobham but not with the squad, and may feature against West Bromwich Albion on Monday.
Andreas Christensen came back to Chelsea before the start of the season from Borussia Monchengladbach on two-year loan and replaced the Brazilian in middle November due to is poor performance.
