Former Liverpool midfielder, Jamie Redknapp believes Manchester United star, Paul Pogba would have become a great player under the management of Pep Guardiola but was affected by his current manager, Jose Mourinho.
The Sky Sports Pundit disagreed with the word that the Frenchman is affected by his price tag which may have caused pressure on him.
Paul Pogba was signed from Juventus in 2016 after the arrival of Jose Mourinho in the same summer transfer on a World-record transfer fee of £89 million. The French international has scored 12 goals in 74 appearances for Manchester United since he arrived at Old Trafford.
However, Paul Pogba has been among the best in the League so far but was poor in his last three recent games. The man missed a lot of matches due to a hamstring injury sustained against Basel and the suspension he faced against Arsenal.
His performance has not been the same in a couple of weeks ago whereby he was on the bench in the Premier League game against a newly arrived team Huddersfield but later replaced McTominay before the end of the match.
“I can’t believe we are criticising him quickly because he was when injured and also went on suspension against Arsenal, Everyone was saying that the team can’t be without Paul Pogba.” He told SkySports.
“Everyone was hailing and qualifying him with different things, but now he is one of the over-rated players. This guy is affected by various things but not the one others are talking about.”
“If Frenchman is under a manager Pep Guardiola, he would have been one of the best in the world. His style shows how big he is, but many things are bringing him down in the team.”
“Paul Pogba has the key in midfield but usually absent in big matches due to his manager statics. Now Mourinho is asking for war within the players, As a manager do not show to players that you love one and hate others.”
