Manchester United is set to extend agreements of three players as Jose Mourinho proceeds to build up. Jose Mourinho believes some players are still useful as he instructs board for new deal.
Manchester United have initiated a move to extend Daley Blind and Ashley Young’s contract.
The two of them were ready to be out of the agreement at the end of this season but the club has drawn them down to the club till 2019. United have also made a move to extend the young goalkeeper Sam Johnstone’s deal.
That results in Marouane Fellaini, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Michael Carrick as the only standing first team players that are likely to leave the club this summer on a free transfer.
Young believes that he would earn new agreement after his stability as United first choice left back this season. The 32-year-old has started 20 of United’s 28 premier league fixtures and was selected ahead of Luke Shaw for last week draw with Sevilla and win over Chelsea.
Blind who joined United in 2014, started the first three league games of the season as left back but has been confined to just four minutes in the league since August and could leave in the summer. The 27-year-old has spent the last three months on the bench due to his injury and United could obtain a fee for Blind in the summer transfer.
