Chelsea willing to pay £66m for Serie A defender as replacement for Gary Cahill

According to the report from Metro, Chelsea management are preparing to offer £66m to Serie A team, Napoli in swoop for there center-back, Kalidou Koulibaly.

The 26-year-old man has been one of the best defenders in the league in recent years. Other English teams like Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool have also shown some interest.

Koulibaly moved Napoli near Juventus to draw the title closer to his side with a single point behind Juventus. The defender scored the single goal against Juventus on Sunday which differentiates the two sides.

After his last game on Sunday the Italian Paper, Il Mattino claimed that Chelsea is back once again for Koulibaly after the failure last season.

The Blues may also face challenges from the Spanish giant, Real Madrid with a high price tag to be involved if there are many competitors.

Chelsea’s failure to qualify for Champions League may put other top teams ahead of them in the transfer market most especially the World cup top players.

Following the trending rumor from Chelsea management, The team will be looking forward to compete with other top teams in Europe as they prepare to make changes from the manager in the summer transfer window.
